Lansing Community College makes it easy for students who have taken courses at other colleges or universities to transfer in.
Complete all your admissions steps in the checklist below at lcc.edu/getstarted. There, you can upload documents, link to tasks and get everything done in one convenient spot.
Apply online or in person at any student services location. You will need:
- Your Address
- Contact Information
- Education History
- Intended Program of Study
- Social Security Number (Required for Financial Aid)
Pro Tip: Visit the StarZone and meet with our admissions team. Get in-person assistance with the application and meet with an advisor to explore academic programs.
2. Activate or Recover Your Student Account
After you apply and receive your student number (X00…) activate your LCC account.
3. WELCOME CALL
When you become a student at LCC, you are assigned an Academic Success Coach who will provide you with guidance, resources and information during your time here.
Answer your phone because your Success Coach will be calling you soon from a "(517) 582-XXXX" number. This is an important step in the process; you will set up your first appointment with your Success Coach and go over your next steps during this call.
Upload your high school transcripts, ACT/SAT test scores, and/or other college transcripts. These determine your reading, writing and math levels and help us place you into the right LCC class.
Don’t have these scores or transcripts? No problem! Take your placement tests in the StarZone at the Downtown Campus.
Pro Tip: LCC’s ACT code is 2019.
5. Your Path
Take the interests assessment to find program and career pathways that may be right for you. This must be completed before you go to STARientation.
6. ACADEMIC ADVISOR CONNECT
Jump online from your phone or computer to connect with an academic advisor using WebEx. This is your chance to ask questions and make sure you're ready for orientation and registration.
To login to your Advisor Connect meeting, you need the WebEx Meeting ID you received in your LCC email.
LCC's out-of-this-world orientation will give you information about academic advising, student life, LCC pro tips, and you can even register for classes at the end of orientation!
Pro Tip: During your Academic Advisor Connect, make sure you determine if you are ready to attend STARientation. Also, bring you interests assessment result from Career Coach.
8. REGISTER FOR CLASSES
After completing the steps above, you are ready to register for classes! If you need help, reach out to your Success Coach or visit the StarZone in the Gannon Building. You can also register on your own in Banner, just log into MyLCC.
